Roadmap

The roadmap provides an overview of all the important future features and expansions planned for Univention Corporate Server (UCS) and the UCS-based products UCS@school, Univention Groupware Server (UGS), Univention Corporate Desktop (UCD) and UCS Thin Client Services. It displays the aimed results in the scope of a dynamic, agile development process, which is why all changes with regard to the timescale and contents are reserved.

  • Publication of UCS@school 3.0 for computer-assisted teaching with integration of Samba 4

Q2 2012

  • Publication of version 3.2 of the business Linux desktop Univention Corporate Desktop (UCD)

Q3 2012

  • Publication of version 3.2 of UCS Thin Client Services (UCS TCS)
  • Publication of version 1.1 of UCS Desktop Virtualization Services (UCS DVS)

Q4 2012

  • Publication of version 3.1 of Univention Corporate Server
  • Update of UCS@school with client-side desktop virtualization:Allows the simultaneous storing of several software environments for different teaching situations on pupils’ PCs, meaning that it is possible to change in a 5-minute break, for example, from a freely changeable Linux environment for advanced IT lessons to a language trainer with restricted functions for modern language learning
