The thin client units are configured via the graphic front end of the administration tool Univention Directory Manager using policies. The log-in screen of the respective thin client unit is selected here.


Univention Directory Manager - Integration of new thin client units

New thin clients units are easily integrated in the existing IT environment: The administration tool Univention Directory Manager is used to specify the computer role, e.g., "thin client" and the network IP of the new unit – the unit now received all the important settings in a UCS domain for thin client systems automatically.

Univention Directory Manager - Configuration of the thin client units

New thin client units can be integrated easily in the existing IT infrastructure. Configurations can be "inherited" so it is not necessary to configure each new thin client system in detail.

Univention Directory Manager – Setting the log-in process

Assignment of the log-in screen that the user will see on the thin client. After logging in on the log-in screen, the user will be connected with the configured terminal server environment.

Univention Directory Manager – User-specific settings

Thin client settings and configurations can also be set specifically for users. This means that units function according to the user currently logged in: Irrespective of where the user is logged in, he is always presented with "his" configured session.

Thin client: booting process

The thin client unit starts according to the set operating system mode: it boots over the network (PXE) or locally from a USB stick, hard drive or CompactFlash card.
