UCS Thin Client Services are used to construct integral thin client infrastructures independently of hardware and platforms. UCS Thin Client Services can be applied in the most diverse IT environments:
- Uncomplicated integration of conventional PCs and thin client from different manufacturers in an integral, centrally administrated thin client infrastructure
- Rapid integration and simple administration thanks to conveniently operated UCS management system
- Automated administration possible using extensive scripting interfaces
- Centrally administrated policies are used for the control of the applications provided for the users and the behaviour of the thin client systems independent of the type and manufacturer of the individual device
UCS Thin Client Services can be operated very flexibly with different methods on the end devices:
- Thin client boot over network: the thin client boots the thin client operating system provided on the server directly over the network, removing the need for software maintenance on the end device
- Boot from thin client device: the thin client operating system is installed directly on the unit, for example on a CompactFlash memory device or on the hard drive or a PC converted to a thin client
- Provision of the thin client system via USB stick: important for all cases when it is not possible to change the local software installation of the thin client
Independent of which versions are used, administration, update control and client configuration are always performed in the same way.
