Further components

  • Base is the integrated database module. This can be used either to create a new database or access an existing database using the supplied drivers, e.g., SQL.

Supported file formats

OpenOffice.org uses the OpenDocument format as standard. OpenDocument is the ISO standard for Office documents. This format guarantees problem-free data exchange even with other applications and allows simple, legally compliant document archiving.

In addition, Microsoft Office formats can also be processed without any difficulty (open and close) in OpenOffice.org. OpenOffice.org supports all further conventional file formats for graphics and other objects.

OpenOffice.org supports the simple saving of documents as PDFs. This allows them to be exchanged and used for official purposes without the need for the use of additional software.
