The integrated DNS server in UCS allows quicker, simpler administration of the company network. The internal IP addresses of different servers and other components can be easily transformed into easy-to-use names.
The IP management of UCS is flexibly configurable and administrates even large networks reliably. New computers can be assigned an IP and a host name automatically. During the configuration you have the possibility of setting whether the IP addresses should be assigned dynamically or fixed. By specifying the MAC address, systems can be assigned a fixed IP address and this allows you to rule out third-party systems.
Network objects compile the basic settings and possible IP addresses of a network area, e.g., a department or a location, into a configuration option. New systems can only be commissioned via the assignment of the network object. System administration is thus also possible without detailed knowledge of the network infrastructure.
