UCS includes a print system, which can be used to realise complex environments. Printers and printer group can be created and configured conveniently in the Directory Manager. The printers are shared via different protocols and are thus available for both Linux/Unix clients and Windows systems. At the same time, a server-side provision of printer drivers is also foreseen respectively.
UCS permits the setting of print quotas for printer groups and printers. The quota policies can be defined for users, user groups and users of a group. Alongside a limitation of the possible print jobs, the system calculates the incurred printing costs and also offers evaluations. This allows you to control which user has ordered how many print jobs. The policy-based administration means that these settings can be made for several users quickly. The Univention Management Console shows quickly and clearly whether the print quota is activated and how many print jobs can still be ordered.
